On August 20, Tesla released a pickleball paddle called the Aurum in the United States. It was developed with the equipment maker Selkirk, and the paddle alone costs $295 (roughly 44,000 yen at an approximate 148 yen to the dollar), or $350 (about 52,000 yen) with a dedicated case. The body is a gold-copper finish taken from the exterior color of the company's Cybercab robotaxi, and it is the second paddle after the Tesla Plaid released in 2025.
The car design language Tesla's aerodynamics team brought over
Full-foam core and InfiniGrit: the feel comes from the build, not the color
フォームコアは現在、taking over from honeycomb, keeping the ball steadier on off-center contact and giving a feel that leans toward control. Put the other way, what decides the Aurum's feel is this construction, not the color or the logo. Paddles sold on their spin surface are not unaffected by thecap on spin rateとも無関係ではなく、大会で使うなら認証区分の確認が必要だ。
What a paddle players in Japan cannot buy still tells us
The $295 Aurum is a paddle chosen for its color; the feel comes from the full-foam core and two-layer carbon
The Aurum went on sale August 20 at $295 alone and $350 with a case. It is the second paddle, wrapped in Cybercab color, and the way it is sold - Tesla owners only, United States only, limited quantity - is the point. The technology carries over from the Plaid, and the feel is decided by the full-foam core and the two-layer carbon. To find a paddle with a similar feel in Japan, drop the color and the collaboration name and work backwards from core type, face material and the approval category your tournaments require. If the car's paint color pulled you in, keep that feeling, but choose the paddle you actually hold by the core that suits your stroke.
