SelkirkOverview of the brand

Selkirk is a pickleball-specialist brand based in Idaho, USA. It's characterized by a posture of directly reflecting pro players' feedback in product development, and is one of the brands with a very high usage rate on the tournament scene.

Selkirk's lineup consists mainly of three series: the top Vanguard, the mid-range Luxx, and the entry Amped. Each is based on a different design philosophy, allowing a choice matched to a player's level and style.

The Vanguard Series

Design Philosophy

Vanguard is Selkirk's flagship series. It's a pro-grade high-end model that unstintingly pours in the latest technology. It's packed with proprietary technologies such as the ProSpin+ texture surface and EdgeSentry (an edge-guard-less design).

Features

Its greatest feature is high spin performance. The ProSpin+ texture produces industry-top-class spin. Within the same series, options are provided — the 16 mm model is control-focused and the 13 mm is power-focused. The ball feel has firm response and answers to the delicate touch of advanced players.

Recommended Players

Ideal for advanced players who want to make spin their weapon, competition-minded players who enter tournaments, and those who want the highest-performing paddle.

The Luxx Series

Design Philosophy

Luxx is a balance-focused mid-range series. It incorporates Vanguard's technology while being designed for a wider range of players to handle easily. It's a series with excellent cost performance.

Features

Its appeal is good balance, combining moderate spin performance and control while putting out ample power too. Because it has an edge guard, it also has excellent durability. It's excellent as an option for beginners and intermediates when stepping up.

Recommended Players

Ideal for intermediate players stepping up, those who want all-around performance, and those who want a solid paddle with a focus on cost performance.

The Amped Series

Design Philosophy

Amped is Selkirk's entry series. It's a model that has enough performance to learn the basics of pickleball while keeping the price affordable. The basic construction is a combination of a fiberglass surface and a polymer core.

Features

With a soft ball feel, it's designed with a wide tolerance for mishits. The sweet spot is large, making it easy even for beginners to catch the ball. Multiple shapes (wide, elongated) are in the lineup, allowing a choice to match your preference.

Recommended Players

Ideal for pickleball beginners, those who want to experience Selkirk quality at an affordable price, and those who want to use it as a backup paddle.

Points for Choosing a Series

Your budget and your own level are the biggest judgment criteria. It's natural to start with the Amped as a beginner, move to the Luxx once your playing style is set, and go to the Vanguard if you want to enter tournaments and seek the best performance.

When there's a choice within the same series of 16 mm (control-focused) and 13 mm (power-focused),dink16 mm is recommended for play centered on control, and 13 mm for drive-centered play.
