Facility information
Wellness Square Shinsakae is a facility with permanent lines for 2 pickleball courts on an outdoor tennis hard court on a building rooftop in Naka-ku, Nagoya. It's run by a tennis school (Tennis Lounge).
Pickleball lines are drawn on the outdoor hard court on the building rooftop, securing space for 2 courts. In addition to members, it also accommodates rental use by visitors.
The usage fee is a guideline of 3,300 yen for members and 4,400 yen for visitors. Please check the official site for how to book rental use.
The location is the rooftop of Sport Nagoya Building, 2-45-26 Shinsakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya, Aichi. For detailed directions and the latest booking method and fees, see the official information (Official website).
At courts that make use of tennis and sports facilities, paddles, balls, and nets are often loaned out, so a feature is that it is easy to try even empty-handed.
Pickleball uses a smaller court than tennis, a lighter paddle, and a perforated lightweight ball. Once players with tennis experience get a feel for the kitchen (non-volley zone), they can improve quickly.
Because the rules are easy to understand and rallies continue easily, it can be enjoyed regardless of exercise experience or age. It is recommended to first try hitting the ball in a trial.
Easy-to-move-in clothes and, indoors, non-marking shoes provide peace of mind. Playing regularly, even for short sessions, stabilizes your feel for the game.
Even in central Nagoya, an outdoor pickleball environment making use of tennis courts is in place.
