Facility overview
The pickleball courts at Tokyu Resort Town Hamanako are outdoor-only courts in Hamana-ku, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. They are the first outdoor-only courts in Japan to receive USA Pickleball certification, and they were renewed with asphalt courts in spring 2026.
Features of the Outdoor Court
Four dedicated outdoor courts inside the resort, letting you play in an open setting. They're also known as a partner facility of the Japan Pickleball Association.

Outdoor courts let you play freely in an open environment. At facilities with night lighting, use after sunset is also possible.

Because it is outdoors, having a hat, sunglasses, and a drink as measures against strong sunlight and wind makes it comfortable. Because availability may change in rainy weather, check in advance.

Be Aware of the Kitchen
The dink (a soft, dropping shot) in the non-volley zone (kitchen) near the net is the key to tactics. Being mindful of control rather than power shots makes it easier to seize the initiative in a rally.
Keep Going with Fellow Players
Going to the same court regularly deepens coordination with opponents and partners and speeds up improvement. Because it is a doubles-centered sport, making friends is also part of the fun.
