It's located at 4-2-8 Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo — rooftop of Tokyo Tower FootTown. For detailed directions and the latest reservation methods and fees, see the official information (Official website).
Outdoor courts let you play freely in an open environment. At facilities with night lighting, use after sunset is also possible.
Because it is outdoors, having a hat, sunglasses, and a drink as measures against strong sunlight and wind makes it comfortable. Because availability may change in rainy weather, check in advance.
The dink (a soft, dropping shot) in the non-volley zone (kitchen) near the net is the key to tactics. Being mindful of control rather than power shots makes it easier to seize the initiative in a rally.
Going to the same court regularly deepens coordination with opponents and partners and speeds up improvement. Because it is a doubles-centered sport, making friends is also part of the fun.
Within Tokyo, permanent dedicated courts have taken shape in Minato-ku too, making it possible to enjoy pickleball at the tourist landmark of Tokyo Tower.
