Facility information
The Okinawa Prefectural Sports Association Sports Hall is an indoor facility inside Onoyama Park in Naha, where "Chura Pickleball" continuously holds practice and trial sessions. Note that pickleball events and availability may change, so check the official site and other sources for the latest information.
Being indoors, it isn't affected by the weather, and it's in a spot with easy access from central Naha. Free paddle rentals are available, making it easy for first-timers to take part.
Practice sessions are held mainly on Fridays from 10:00 to 12:00, with a participation fee of around 300 yen. Since the schedule varies, check the host organization's announcements.
It's located at 51-2 Onoyama-cho, Naha, Okinawa (inside Onoyama Park). Check each facility's official information for detailed directions and the latest reservation methods and fees.
Regular sessions and circles held at venues such as public facilities are places where you can casually play with local fellow players. Many groups welcome beginners, and some also lend out equipment.
Because it is held by renting a facility rather than a permanent dedicated court, it is best to check the dates, venue, and how to participate in the organizer's announcements.
Because pickleball has a small court and rallies continue easily, it can be enjoyed regardless of age or exercise experience. First, join a practice session and experience the atmosphere.
Easy-to-move-in clothes and, indoors, non-marking shoes provide peace of mind. Having a drink ready also makes it comfortable.
In Okinawa, club activities that rotate around several municipal gymnasiums are at the heart of the sport's spread. The Sports Hall in Naha is one stable base for that activity.
