Facility information
Tennis & Badminton School NOAH Yokohama Idogaya is an air-conditioned indoor school in Minami-ku, Yokohama, holding pickleball classes and trial sessions. It's a 1-minute walk from Idogaya Station on the Keikyu Line.
As an indoor court, you can play regardless of the weather. There are beginner classes, holiday trial sessions, and parent-and-child programs, and you can take part empty-handed.
Check the official site for class and trial session schedules, fees, and reservation methods.
It's located at 158 Idogaya-nakamachi, Minami-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa — Across Cube Idogaya 5F. For detailed directions and the latest reservation methods and fees, see the official information (Official website).
Indoors, you can play in a stable environment all year round, free from rain, extreme heat, and cold.
Reservations are mostly on an hourly, booking-required basis. If paddle and ball rentals are available, you can start empty-handed, so it's reassuring to check whether rentals are offered before your first visit.
The dink (a soft, dropping shot) in the non-volley zone (kitchen) near the net is the key to tactics. Being mindful of control rather than power shots makes it easier to seize the initiative in a rally.
Going to the same court regularly deepens coordination with opponents and partners and speeds up improvement. Because it is a doubles-centered sport, making friends is also part of the fun.
In Kanagawa, an indoor school has taken shape in Minami-ku, Yokohama too, so you can start pickleball in the Idogaya area.
