Steve Deakin

Steve Deakin is a leading Canadian pickleball player. A former ATP-ranked player, he twice served as a player and captain for Canada's senior world team. In 2017 a tennis injury led him to discover pickleball, and he has since devoted himself to it without returning to the tennis court.

Career and record

He has won 11 Canadian national titles, one of the players with the most domestic titles in Canadian pickleball. He has won medals at multiple major tournaments and holds many titles in pro doubles as well. He has also contributed greatly to promoting pickleball across Canada.

Play style

His hallmarks are the skill and strategy backed by ATP-level tennis experience. He is especially well regarded for his skillful net play and accurate court positioning.

Other activities

Alongside his competitive activity, he holds clinics and camps across Canada, devoting himself to developing players. He is also involved with the Canada National Pickleball League (CNPL), contributing to the growth of the domestic pickleball scene.
