Profile

Lingwei Kong is a 28-year-old professional pickleball player from Guangzhou, China. She moved to Wichita, Kansas, in 2019 and played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Wichita State University women's tennis team. Before college, from 2016 to 2018, she competed as a pro tennis player on the ITF Tour (Asia). She stands 5 feet 8 inches (172cm) and is right-handed. She is also known as a multilingual speaker of four languages.

Career and record

She discovered pickleball in Wichita's PPA community in late 2022 and made her pro debut at the PPA Tour Seattle Open in July 2023 after graduating. She is a historic player as the first from mainland China to sign with the PPA. As of July 2025 she had played 33 tournaments and 144 matches. In MLP she plays for the New York Hustlers. She currently lives in Irvine, California.

Play style

Her hallmark is steady baseline play that makes use of her long tennis experience. She also actively contributes to spreading pickleball in China and across Asia. Her sponsor is Lunar Pickleball.
