Genie Bouchard is a former WTA tennis player from Montreal, Canada. A 2014 Wimbledon women's singles runner-up, she reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of 5. She turned pro in pickleball in 2024 and officially retired from tennis after the 2025 Canada Open.

Career and record

From 2024 she competed on the PPA Tour and in MLP. Though she struggled with the adjustment from tennis at first, she grew rapidly throughout the 2025 season. She has steadily improved, reaching two women's singles finals. As of March 2026 she had played 42 pro tournaments and 216 matches.

Play style

His weapons are the powerful ground strokes and excellent footwork built in tennis. He is progressing in adapting to pickleball's characteristic soft game, with especially notable growth from the latter half of 2025.

Paddle and sponsor

In April 2025 he signed with Proton and switched to the Project Flamingo paddle. He himself says this paddle change was a major turning point. In April 2026 an agency deal with Park Place Technologies was also announced.

Latest developments

In 2026 he has set winning a gold medal as his goal and is active on a full schedule centered on the PPA Tour.
