Practice session overview

Edopiku is a circle that runs practice sessions at community halls and ward facilities in Edogawa, Tokyo. Venues rotate by date among Ichinoe, Ninoe, Shinozaki, Kita-Koiwa, Nishi-Koiwa, Hirai and Matsue, and anyone aged 20 or over can take part. Some sessions are open to people outside the circle.

Details

Sessions start with basic drills and move on to doubles games, running about two to three hours each. Around two courts are set up, and the cap ranges from a few people to about 12 depending on the session. The organizer says their role is explaining the rules rather than coaching technique, and participants share putting the nets up and taking them down. Bring a paddle, indoor shoes, a drink and a towel; badminton shoes are recommended.

Fees and participation
