The dedicated pickleball courts at Tagawa Tennis Club are outdoor-only courts in Kawara-machi, Tagawa-gun, Fukuoka. Developed in 2025, they were featured in the local newspaper as dedicated courts for the Chikuho area. Note that pickleball events and availability may change, so check the official site and other sources for the latest information.
Dedicated outdoor courts set up within the tennis club, equipped with night lighting. Equipment is available to rent, making them easy to use from nearby areas too.
The usage fee is roughly 2,200 yen per hour. Check the club's announcements for hours and reservation methods.
It's located at 303 Nakatsubaru, Kawara-machi, Tagawa-gun, Fukuoka. Check each facility's official information for detailed directions and the latest reservation methods and fees.
Outdoor courts let you play freely in an open environment. At facilities with night lighting, use after sunset is also possible.
Because it is outdoors, having a hat, sunglasses, and a drink as measures against strong sunlight and wind makes it comfortable. Because availability may change in rainy weather, check in advance.
The dink (a soft, dropping shot) in the non-volley zone (kitchen) near the net is the key to tactics. Being mindful of control rather than power shots makes it easier to seize the initiative in a rally.
Going to the same court regularly deepens coordination with opponents and partners and speeds up improvement. Because it is a doubles-centered sport, making friends is also part of the fun.
Dedicated courts have appeared in the Chikuho area of Fukuoka too, making it possible to enjoy pickleball in earnest in the Tagawa area.
