Facility information
Kawachi Tennis Club is a tennis club in Mihara-ku, Sakai, Osaka, that also puts its prized hard courts to use for pickleball. It began pickleball activities in spring 2025.
Using its outdoor hard courts, it holds pickleball club activities and practice. Because it's built on a tennis school, it's an easy environment to start in when it comes to equipment and coaching.
Check the official site for how to use the courts, club activity dates, and fees. Availability depends on the courts' open slots.
The facility is located at 3-1 Shinpukuji, Mihara-ku, Sakai, Osaka. For detailed directions and the latest reservation methods and fees, see the official information (Official website).
At courts that make use of tennis and sports facilities, paddles, balls, and nets are often loaned out, so a feature is that it is easy to try even empty-handed.
Pickleball uses a smaller court than tennis, a lighter paddle, and a perforated lightweight ball. Once players with tennis experience get a feel for the kitchen (non-volley zone), they can improve quickly.
Because the rules are easy to understand and rallies continue easily, it can be enjoyed regardless of exercise experience or age. It is recommended to first try hitting the ball in a trial.
Easy-to-move-in clothes and, indoors, non-marking shoes provide peace of mind. Playing regularly, even for short sessions, stabilizes your feel for the game.
In southern Osaka too, tennis clubs are increasingly taking up pickleball, and more places to play are appearing around Sakai.
