She uses the Adidas Metalbone LP paddle. Mari Humberg is a 29-year-old professional pickleball player born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She stands 5 feet 8 inches, is right-handed, turned pro in 2023, and currently lives in Boynton Beach, Florida. She started tennis in childhood and competed in national and international tournaments from age 9. At 18 she earned a full scholarship to Winthrop University (South Carolina), later transferring to the University of Louisville (Kentucky). She speaks three languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
She started pickleball in late August 2022 and played her first pro tournament in December 2022. Her spin-centered game built in tennis transferred beautifully, and she reached pro level in a short time. As of March 2026 she had played 57 tournaments and 444 matches with a 59.0% win rate. She ranks 20th in PPA Tour women's doubles.
Her signature shot is the backhand flick, a shot common in men's doubles but rare in women's doubles, which she wields as a weapon. She also effectively uses the slice she was good at in her tennis days. She contributes to spreading pickleball in both the US and Brazil.
