Seina Shima (28) is a PJF (Pickleball Federation of Japan) certified pro in Japan. A former tennis player who won women's doubles at the 2011 National Junior High School Tennis Championships, she has been improving rapidly despite about a year of pickleball experience. Her hobbies are travel, driving, mountain climbing, camping, and other outdoor activities.

Career and record

PPA Tour: 3rd place in the women's singles amateur division at the Vulcan Orlando Cup 2024. At the PJF Pickleball Championships in Japan 2024 she won Women's Doubles Skill (5.0) 8+. At the Asia Pickleball Games 2024 she reached the quarterfinals in Open Women's Doubles 19+. Among her 2025 results: at the PPA Tour Australia Open, WS round of 32, WD round of 16, XD round of 32; at the PPA Tour Australia Perth Open, WS 4th, WD 3rd, XD 4th; at the PPA Tour Asia Malaysia Open, WS quarterfinals, WD round of 16 — steadily improving her results.

Play style

Her weapons are the accurate strokes and steady rally ability built in tennis. She also excels at coordinated doubles play, showing particular strength in women's doubles. Though her competitive career is short, her tennis fundamentals are solid, and much growth is expected.

Development project

She was selected for "Pickleball X (the Pickleball Global Top Pro Development Project)," supported by Sansan Inc., and is taking part in a development program aiming for the world's top level.

Latest developments

In the 2025-2026 season she is actively competing at PPA Tour and PPA Tour Asia events. As a figure leading Japan's women's pickleball scene, she aims for further leaps on the international stage.
