Profile

Nasa Hatakeyama is a left-handed professional pickleball player born January 18, 1997, in Sapporo, Hokkaido. He graduated from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University. As a former padel player he won the All-Japan Padel Championships twice and achieved an undefeated season. He turned pro in pickleball in September 2024 and is known as an all-rounder.

Career and record

After turning pro, he quickly showed his ability. Among his main results: at the PPA Tour Asia Australia Gold Coast Pickleball Slam he reached the round of 16 in Pro MS 5.0+ and Pro MD 5.0+. At the PPA Tour Asia Sansan Fukuoka Open he played as a wild card, beat Kim Eung-gwon 2-0 (11-3, 11-4), and reached the quarterfinals. At the JPA TOP TOUR 2025 T4 Lake Hamana event he finished runner-up in men's doubles and won mixed doubles. At the PPA Tour Asia Malaysia Open 2025 he reached the round of 16 in singles and mixed doubles, playing mixed doubles paired with Rika Fujiwara. At the World Pickleball Championship Hong Kong event he reached the quarterfinals in men's singles OPEN and won men's singles 4.5+. At the BURGER KING CUP he led his team to runner-up. He is a PJF (Pickleball Federation of Japan) certified pro.

Play style

A left-handed all-rounder. The net-play and wall-play instincts built in padel, along with his tactical judgment, carry over into pickleball. His hobbies are skiing, golf, and cooking.
