Matt Wright is a professional pickleball player and attorney born in 1977, living in Wichita, Kansas. He starred as a tennis player in college but chose the law, running a law firm in Wichita. He discovered pickleball at 39 and within months was competing at elite-level tournaments.

Career and record

He holds a brilliant record: seven US Open titles, two Tournament of Champions gold medals, and four USA National Championship wins. He has found success in both mixed doubles and men's doubles. In his doubles partnership with Riley Newman (January 2022 to June 2023) he won a medal at all 27 tournaments they played and won 8 of them. His career earnings exceed $5.4 million. As of March 2026 he had played 95 pro tournaments and 370 matches with a 61.1% win rate. He maintains a top-5 ranking in men's and mixed doubles on the PPA Tour.
