Sophia Tran Phuong Anh (born 2008) is a pickleball player from Vietnam. At 17 she is a leading figure in Vietnamese pickleball, and as one of Asia's youngest-class pro players she draws international attention. She originally had tennis experience and discovered pickleball during rehabilitation from a shoulder injury, then switched to the sport.<\/p>\n
At the Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships 2025 held in November 2025, she won the women's singles 4.5 division, becoming the first Vietnamese player to stand atop an international pickleball tournament. At the Vietnam Pickleball Awards 2025 she achieved a triple crown of \"Best Female Player,\" \"Best Mixed Doubles\" (paired with Le Xuan Duc), and \"Best Women's Doubles\" (paired with Sophia Huynh Tran).<\/p>\n
Her weapons are the powerful strokes built in tennis and the fast footwork of youth. Her hallmark is all-around play combining the mobility to cover the whole court with accurate shot control.<\/p>\n
She was selected for the UPA Asia Trailblazers program and gained the chance to receive three months of serious training in the US. That program covers all travel and living expenses and aims to develop promising Asian players as pros. She is expected to thrive mainly on the PPA Tour Asia in 2026 as well.<\/p>\n
