It uses banquet-hall space as a playing venue, creating a facility where you can play empty-handed in a prime location right by Shinagawa Station. It is operated by Seibu Media Communications.

A court on an upper floor of a hotel in front of Shinagawa Station

The facility is on the 10th floor of the Main Tower of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel (4-10-30 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo). You reach the floor via the banquet-hall elevator. There is one court, measuring 5.2m wide by 13.4m long. Up to eight people can use it; a slot is 50 minutes, and you can book up to two consecutive slots.

Paddles and shoes are available to rent, so you can come empty-handed. Opening hours are 9:00 to 22:00. It adjoins the hotel's banquet halls of up to 2,046 sq m, and combining it with party use is envisioned.

Built into a Seibu Group complex

It is operated by Seibu Media Communications (renamed on April 1, 2025). The Shinagawa Prince Hotel already has a cluster of attractions such as Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa, T-Joy PRINCE Shinagawa, and a bowling center, and the pickleball court is a new addition to this entertainment complex. The Seibu Group, which spans real estate, hotels, and leisure, has repurposed an existing asset for the sport.

Fee system

Category

Price

Weekdays 9:00-18:00 (50-min slot)

8,000 yen

Weekdays 18:00-22:00

11,000 yen

Weekends and holidays 9:00-22:00

11,000 yen

Paddle rental

500 yen each

Shoe rental

500 yen per pair

Trial session

3,850 yen per person (up to 5 people)

Impact on readers

Being inside a hotel close to Shinagawa Station makes it easy to drop by on the way home from work or between business trips. Because it uses the banquet-hall floor, it also works well as a venue for corporate team-building and social events. An environment you can visit empty-handed becomes an entry point for people picking up a racket for the first time.

An example of facility development by a major company

In Tokyo, the move to set up playing venues in highly accessible locations continues. The entry of the Seibu Group, built on railways and real estate, shows that pickleball has entered a stage where it is being incorporated into the business portfolios of major corporations.

Summary

Shinagawa Prince, which turned a station-front hotel's banquet floor into a playing space, is a textbook case of urban pickleball that makes use of idle space. The full-scale entry of a major group will push the market up on both the quality and quantity of facilities.

Related Articles

Pickleball courts popping up at hotels and commercial facilities one after another—the full picture of the facility rush

Six courts, the most in western Japan, on a Sakai, Osaka hotel rooftop—turning lodging facilities into competition hubs

Japan's pickleball competitive population is 330,000, with 11.89 million potential

Source

Seibu Media Communications press release (PR TIMES)

SEIBU FAST SPORTS FIELD Shinagawa Pickleball opens March 23, 2026 on the 10th floor of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Main Tower.
